Trying to choose between Majorca and Tenerife? We’ve been to both and honestly, we love them both.
But they offer slightly different types of holidays.

Best for: Beaches, families, couples and summer holidays.

Best time to visit: May to October.
🌋 Tenerife
Best for: Winter sun, scenery, activities and exploring.

- 🎢 Fantastic attractions including Siam Park
- 🏖️ Good choice of beaches
- 🍹 Plenty of all-inclusive hotels

Popular areas include Costa Adeje, Playa de las Américas, Los Cristianos and Puerto de la Cruz.
Best time to visit: Year-round, particularly October to April for winter sun.
✈️ Getting there
You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to flights.
There are plenty of direct flights from airports across the UK to both Majorca and Tenerife, including options from Birmingham, Manchester, London and many regional airports.
So whichever destination you choose, there’s a good chance you’ll have several flight options to consider.

❤️ Which do we prefer?
This is a difficult one for us.
We’ve been to both Majorca and Tenerife and absolutely love them.
But if you forced us to choose, Tenerife would probably win.
There’s a simple reason for that.
Tenerife was the first destination we ever really fell in love with. ❤️
It will always have a special place in our hearts, and we’ve returned because of how much we enjoyed our first visits.
That doesn’t mean Majorca isn’t fantastic — it absolutely is. We’d happily recommend either destination depending on what you’re looking for.
Our verdict
Choose Majorca if: you want beautiful beaches, a classic Mediterranean holiday and a shorter flight.
Choose Tenerife if: you want reliable sunshine, dramatic scenery, attractions and plenty to explore.
For winter sun: Tenerife wins.
For beaches: Majorca wins.
For us: Tenerife ❤️
